The Taste of Maldives

Lots pf people come to Maldives not only for its charimg scene, but also for its food.  No matter where you are from, you can always find your own taste here. The hotels and restaurants in Malé, the capital of Maldives, serve the customers with western and eastern special
ities. The cafés in Malé is an ideal place to experience local tastes. Maldivian food is spicy but milder than the food found in some neighbouring countries. Sweet, sour, hot and spicy food is found. Hedhikaa is the short eats popular in many cafés. Hot and spicy savouries are made of smoked fish, grated coconut, lime juice, onion and chilli.
Traditional Maldives food is similar to Indian food in that it involves, lots of spices, frying and baking from samosas to egg drop soup – so as a rule, if you like Indian food, you’ll probably like traditional Maldivian food too.
Fish is a big part of island cooking in the Maldives, particularly tuna. Believe or not, on some resorts you can go out and fish for your dinner! Curries are popular too and they come in a myriad of varieties! Pepper, Spices, Cardamom, lime, ginger, coconut are all represented here. Go on if you are going to try Asian cuisine then the Maldives is the place to try it! Maldives food is the best!
